Hybrid ICs for Driving Brush-Type DC Motors Slide 26

This slide shows the current flow in the STK681-332 and 352 when the ENABLE terminal is pulse-width modulated to control the motor rotation speed. F3 or F4 turns ON or OFF in response to the high-low condition of the ENABLE signal. During the time of ON of F3 or F4, current flows into the direction of GND. At the time of OFF of F3 or F4, fly back current flows into the direction of Vcc. Other motor drivers, such as the STK681-300,310 and 320 do not have an ENABLE terminal and cannot control rotation speed.
