Note that the turn on time for the SSR is greatly reduced with input Forward Current above a few milliamperes and below 0.4 msec for a forward current greater than 5 mA. The recommended operating conditions shown in the table below indicate the Typical Forward Current of 10 mA should provide a turn-on time of 0.2 msec. A minimum Forward Current of 2 mA will cause the device to operate, however the turn-on time will be 1 msec or longer, as seen in the graph, Turn-On Time vs. Forward Current for the PS7241-2A. Also, the graph gives some idea about the likelihood of any individual SSR behaving within the scope of the parameters in the data sheet.
