The output-side power dissipation is calculated as follows: PO = Iload2 x R(on) x duty cycle where Iload is the maximum DC output current. Using the previous graphs for the PS7241-2A, the main portion of the distribution is at 25 Ohms and this will be used for the example. The Duty Cycle will be considered “1” for this case where the SSR is considered “On” and power calculations for high-rate switching conditions will not be considered here. From the calculations shown here, the output power is 360 mW.
