IoT at ST is divided into three pillars: “Smart Home”, which consists of everything in the home that one can think of, smart appliances, smart thermostats, home gateways, security, lighting, “Smart Me”, which consists of mostly wearable items, and the “Smart City”, with street lighting, building automation, metering and fleet tracking. Obviously the Wi-Fi module really falls into the outer two, the smart home and the smart city, so that is what will be covered when ST targets customers for the Wi-Fi Modules.
