One of the features that was added in the latest firmware was an additional low power management mode. ST now has different low power modes for the Wi-Fi module from previous firmware version, and the typical values are shown here. When the STM32 and the CW1100 are in standby mode, the module typically draws about 43 µA. This mode is entered via the AT command set. It is awoken from an external pin or an RTC alarm. There is also a sleep mode, in which the STM32 is in stop and the CW1100 is in power save mode. That gives users a 15 mA typical consumption. Power save mode is where the microcontroller is running, but the CW1100 is in power save at 26 mA. Active run, receive and transmit are 105 and 243 mA respectively at 10 dBm.
