Since this training module cannot illustrate all the possible uses of an accelerator engine, the presentation will instead provide some ideas to consider. As a result of the unique architecture of the Peraso accelerator engines, it not only supports the standard read/write accesses of a standard RAM device, but because it also has two ports that can operate in tandem or separately, it is possible to use the BE-3 device as a dual-ported structure which allows independent access from each of the two ports. These devices are ideally used as statistics engines, oversubscription buffers, fast lookup tables, and graphics convolution buffers. Due to the high speed, high random access rate, unique architecture, and increased density, it opens up the option of a next generation RAM for newer high-speed systems.
