Great alternatives to the physical simulation software are available in the Cloud; one example being SystemVision Cloud. Vishay has incorporated its PTCEL inrush current limitation components into its simulation library. Shown here is a screen capture of a tunable simulation. It is like a virtual lab where each voltage, current, and temperature can be visualized on-screen. Some parameters are tunable, like the smooth capacitor value which can also be short-circuited; the dream of any designer. For new applications and simulations, the circuit can be copied and modified at the designer's discretion.
