When different ICs are used on the same application board, the need may arise to provide a start up sequence or configuration. As discussed, soft-start clamps the vref and the rails reach the nominal value at the same time this is the most common case. A power sequencing can be implemented by controlling the enable pins through the PG outputs in order to initiate the soft-start phase after the previous regulator has reached the nominal value. Finally, if the soft-start clamps the out of the error amplifier the voltage rails will reach regulation in increasing order depending on their nominal values.
