NanoDrive oscillators work with a broad range of MCUs. This table shows a sampling of the MCUs and the relevant SiTime NanoDrive configuration that would result in power savings from a reduced voltage swing. For example, in an application using ST Micro’s family of STM32xxx MCUs, NanoDrive can be used either when the internal oscillator is enabled with a D14 NanoDrive which would be a 700 mV swing or when the internal oscillator is disabled with a D26 or a 600 mV NanoDrive device. In the case where the internal MCU is disabled or bypassed, it is assumed the MCU voltage is 1.8 V which is typically the case. MDF indicates that the MCU manufacturer does not support the indicated feature while NA indicates SiTime does not provide a NanoDrive product for that specific feature. However, a SiTime 32 kHz oscillator running at full LVCMOS swing voltage can still be used to eliminate load capacitors and where desirable, drive both the BLE and the MCU clock thereby eliminating a second crystal.
