This slide illustrates the benefits of NanoDrive under load conditions. Total current is the sum of core current, output drive current and load current. In example 1, it is assumed the supply voltage is 1.8 V, the core current is 900 nA and the load is 10 pF. As shown in example 1, output driver current is 206 nA and the load current is 590 nA, resulting in a total load current of 1.696 µA. Under the same conditions, but with the output swing voltage changed to 300 mV, the resulting output drive current is reduced to only 34 nA and the total load currently is a mere 1.032 µA. This shows that power consumption can be reduced by at least 40% by reducing the swing voltage from typical LVCMOS levels through the use of the programmable NanoDrive feature from SiTime.
