There are four different types of larger “size 8” contacts that are cavity compatible with the larger positions in the mixed layout connectors. The first, and most popular, are high-power contacts which range from 20 AWG wire to 8 AWG wire capacity and from 10 to 40 A current capability. The second most common option isthe RF or coaxial contacts. These come in a variety of available coaxial wire types and can either have a 50 or 75 Ω impedance. Following are the high-voltage contacts that can pass up to 3000 volts per circuit. Lastly, there are pneumatic contacts which can pass an air line. These items are usually sold separately so the customer can mix and match to build the connector that best meets their requirements.
