The value proposition for this product line is centered around the machined brass contacts. Machined or turned contacts carry higher current than their stamped counterparts because of their greater mass. Due to the larger area of surface-to-surface contact between machined contacts, they offer a reduced level of contact resistance compared to stamped contacts. Because of their higher carrying current and lower contact resistance they offer a greater power density than stamped contacts, which allows designers to use a smaller connector and fewer materials to get the job done. This impacts higher builds such as cable assemblies due to lower raw material and assembly cost. Finally, since machined contacts are solid pieces of metal, they are stronger and more durable than stamped contacts and hold up better to bending and possible damage during mating.
