Now, if we are in the analog realm and we are taking a signal from an analog camcorder we’ll need to use a video decoder first, such as the ADV7183B. The analog signal goes into the video decoder, again the Blackfin configures the part via I²C - the TWI interface, and will get an 8-bit digital data stream from the 7183 straight through to the PPI, and in this case the video decoder is clocking the Blackfin. It provides a line locked clock for the Blackfin PPI.
