Here’s an example diagram of how to hook up to an audio converter. In this example, we’re looking at an A to D, the AD1871. We have an analog signal from a microphone coming in and converting it with a pretty straightforward interface. The control channel is via SPI, so the Blackfin is the master, and selects the SPI peripheral of the 1871. The data port is just a straight transmit using three of the four SPORT pins in the receive direction on the Blackfin. The Blackfin is receiving the audio data that’s digitized by this converter.
