The APM80950 is an LED driver that uses a step-down Buck regulator topology designed for high-efficiency power conversion. It is capable of driving high brightness LEDs at a constant current of up to 1.5A, derived from an input voltage that can range as high as 36V. LED dimming is controlled via a simple digital PWM input signal or in conjunction with analog dimming to create a very wide dimming range. The maximum output current is set by choosing an appropriate current sense resistor value. The EMI filter, output capacitor, and inductor are all integrated, thus reducing the amount of external components and overall solution footprint.
