EPU-4562 Blackbird Single Board Computer Slide 3

Like all of VersaLogic’s rugged x86 compatible embedded computers, the Blackbird is designed, manufactured, and tested to be reliable in critical and demanding environments. These environments include extreme temperatures, high shock, excessive vibration, and high humidity. It has gone through: a strict component selection and evaluation process, worst-case stress testing, state-of-the-art compliance and validation testing of all high-speed signals, verification of the external interfaces, and extensive power and four-corner thermal testing. All VersaLogic products have been through the most stringent validation testing before they take on a customer’s application. The Blackbird is powered by a 6th generation Intel Core processor. Formerly known as Skylake, this processor is performance optimized for computational and video applications and provides compatibility with the broadest range of x86 applications and development tools to ensure reduced system cost and development time. Included in the extensive set of features is an on-board Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chip. The TPM can be used to authenticate both the hardware and software as the chip contains a unique RSA key. There are five different quad- and dual-core CPU options: i3, i5, and i7, designed to fit the price and performance goals. Most of the processors come with Hyper-threading which allows execution of up to 8 simultaneous processing threads. There are several other Intel technologies built in to the Kaby Lake CPU including SpeedStep, Turbo Boost, Virtualization, AES Instructions, and Intel 64 architecture. In addition, the i5 and i7 processor models are equipped with Intel’s advanced vPro Technology capabilities. The vPro support includes: Enhanced security to reduce the exposure to sophisticated software-level attacks and Turbo Boost technology that can increase the processing performance by up to 30 percent. The Lion supports up to 32 Giga-bytes of pre-installed memory. This memory space helps to support demanding applications such as video processing, data mining, and data buffering.
