Do not be misled by a device with dual power supplies into accidentally recommending a UPS system that has a larger wattage capacity than is required. Device manufacturers design products with two power supplies usually as a redundancy measure. If one power supply fails, then the other power supply can support the entire load. In these instances one should use the wattage from one power supply not the combined wattage. So if a device has two 800 W power supplies, its capacity is only 800 W... not 1600 W. Check the device's description to ensure the power supplies are used redundantly. While this is usually the case, there are some exceptions to this rule (where one will need to combine the output of both power supplies).
