Some of the techniques used by the ICE technology optimize the design to maximize heat transfer to the case. The top picture illustrates the different techniques used. The switching FETs, the transformers and rectifiers are mounted in close thermal contact to the case, and a special potting material with exceptional heat transfer is used. Another improvement made, is the addition of an aluminum case that acts as a built-in heat sink. This innovative case has a ribbed surface that supports and increases the heat transfer. The material is aircraft grade and it allows an all around cooling.
