The LTC3130/LTC3130-1 is similar in design to the 200mA low IQ LTC3129/LTC3129-1, but has enabled applications with higher voltage and/or current requirements to take advantage of the products simplicity while offering similar low IQ performance. The devices offer built-in loop compensation minimizing external component selection, but offer a handful of easy-to-use features, such as an accurate RUN comparator, power good indicator, and Maximum Power Point Control input to match application power requirements. The LTC3130/LTC3130-1 are also similar in design to the 1.4A/15 V LTC3111 and 1A/40 V LTC3114-1, but have been optimized for low-to-medium current applications, thus enabling much smaller external components for these systems. The low quiescent current of only 1.6µA allows the LTC3130/LTC3130-1 to be used in constant-on battery powered applications. This, along with the ability to start-up from extremely weak input sources (as low as 7.5µW), enables use in energy harvesting applications which require low quiescent current. Like other products including the LTC3129, the LTC3130/LTC3130-1 offers MPPC capability, enabling the part to deliver the maximum power from non-ideal sources such as photovoltaic panels without collapsing their voltage. The LTC3130/LTC3130-1 also offer EXTVcc bootstrap capability, which allows for some unique powering scenarios, reduces quiescent current draw on VIN in buck applications and allows the converter to operate from a VIN voltage down to 1V or less.
