The Smart Analog Combo (SAC) in MSP430FR235x MCUs is a configurable analog IP for full signal chain implementation. The Smart Analog Combo module features include: Op-Amp (operational amplifier) with rail-to-rail input/output and multiple input selection, PGA (programmable gain amplifier) with programmable gain up to 33x and supports inverting/non-inverting mode, and DAC (digital-to-analog converter) with a 12-bit DAC core with programmable setup time and software selectable data loading. The Smart Analog Combo module is flexible for different configurations in the SoC. If more than one Smart Analog Combo is present on a device like MSP430FR235x, the multiple Smart Analog Combo modules operate identically. The benefits of integrating Smart Analog Combo on MSP430 MCUs are to eliminate discrete analog circuits, improve analog signal integrity through internal connections, optimize system BOM and enable single chip solution for industrial sensing applications, such as the Occupancy Detection, Smoke Detector, Gas Sensor, Temperature Sensing, Field Transmitters, and Pulse Oximeter.
