Small Motor Drivers Slide 26

The main difference between the devices in the family is the input configuration. The L6385 and L6387 have two logic inputs, one controls the high side driver and one controls the low side driver. In this configuration there is no internal dead time so the designer must insure that both inputs are not asserted at the same time and that there is sufficient dead time between turning one off and the other on. Many microcontrollers have this function built into the PWM outputs. Both inputs have internal pull down to guarantee the outputs are off during power on until the microcontroller takes control. The L6387 has a lower threshold on the under voltage shutdown than the L6385 and is intended for use with logic level devices.
