The RX671 has a capacitive touch sensing unit, so there is no need to use an external touch controller IC. Additionally, other advanced features such as cloud connectivity, voice recognition, digital signal processing, USB, and security can be realized on a single chip, so designers can reduce the number of components and the board size. Furthermore, the RX671 helps to adapt product HMI interfaces to the new normal. Capacitive touch sensing realizes easy-to-clean control panels without mechanical switches as well as contactless control with proximity switches. A control panel without mechanical switches also has other advantages. The control panel design can be refined by using various materials such as acrylic, wood, or stone. There is no gap between the switches and the surface of panel, so it is easy to keep dust and water droplets out.
