The fourth and final component are the cable entry glands. Here is where the cable will enter the hood or housing enclosure and terminate to the Insert. Cable entry glands typically have a rubber grommet that creates a tight compression style sealed fit around the perimeter of the cable. This protects the internal contact points from harmful external influences.
