High-speed fuses are also used in solar inverters and UPS systems, battery energy storage systems, and electric vehicle DC fast-charging stations. In solar inverters and UPS systems, high-speed fuses protect the power converter modules. In battery energy storage systems, high-speed fuses protect against the short circuit fault current that may occur within a battery rack or inside a battery combiner cabinet. In DC fast-charging stations, high-speed fuses are used to protect the power converter modules and for DC cable fault current protection between the dispensing station and the electric vehicle.
