Key features of the LTC3119 include an input voltage range of 2.5 to 18V, and runs as low as a VIN of 250 mV after start-up. It has an output voltage range of 0.8 to 18V, a 5A output current in buck mode when VIN is greater than 6V, 3A when VIN is 3.6V and VOUT = 5V. Programmable switching frequency is 400kHz to 2MHz, synchronizable with an external clock to 2MHz. In Burst Mode operation, no-load Iq = 35µA. Other features are a low noise buck-boost PWM, current mode control, MPPC, a power good indicator, internal soft-start, and thermally enhanced 28-lead 4mm × 5mm QFN and TSSOP packages.
