Solaris uses a spring-loaded slide lock for faster free mating – no additional screws, nuts, washers or tools. Simply push to mate and slide to unmate. While one may not hear it in the presentation shown here, an audible “click” is a positive lock confirmation. Raised finger ridges on both the shell body and sliding locking nut ensure a firm grip when mating or unmating. A built-in cable tie access hole allows attaching to cable bundles or to tie down points quickly and conveniently, using a small tie wrap or lacing tape, for what is called a zero footprint mounting. A 500 mating cycle minimum means the connector can be comfortably used in man/machine interface applications where the connection is made or unmade on a routine basis. ULTEM Polyetherimide housing means the product is tough, yet light. It is the same material used in the M81714 MIL Spec product line, which has been proven in over 30 years of MIL-Aero usage. Ultrasonic welded joints means no voids – the sub-component parts are literally fused together, so the customer can be sure that no moisture penetrates the joints, ensuring highly reliable operation.
