ACS726 Hall-Effect Based Current Sensor Slide 2
The ACS726 is part of a larger family of Hall-effect based current sensors that Allegro manufactures. These products use proprietary packaging techniques to integrate the Hall-effect IC with an electrical current conductor in a single, monolithic IC package. These construction techniques allow Allegro to offer a wide variety of products with different electrical and isolation characteristics to meet the customers current sensing needs. Allegro offers multiple products in small form factor, surface mount QFN, SOIC-8, SOICW-16, and QSOP-24 packages that can be used for applications sensing up to 50 A of current. Allegro also offers larger custom packages that can sense currents up to 200 A and provide galvanic isolation up to 4800 V. The integrated nature of these products and the resistor-like transfer function makes it very easy to integrate these current sensors into a design. The ACS726 is offered in the QSOP24 package and is highlighted by the arrow shown here.
