ams OSRAM's Metal Can PLT5 522FA_P-M12 Laser Diode is a 514 nanometer laser diode that is an ideal, cost-effective alternative to argon-ion lasers for manufacturers of scientific and measurement equipment. This 514 plus or minus 1 nanometer laser diode enables manufacturers to replace expensive argon-ion lasers traditionally used for generating laser emission at a peak wavelength of 514.5 nm. The PLT5 522FA_P-M12 is smaller, has a longer operating lifetime, and eliminates the need for a cumbersome water-cooling mechanism, making it an ideal alternative. With a preselected bin and 50 miliwatt optical output power, it is compatible with various third-party lenses and works with 514 nm fluorescent dyes. Its enables production of a narrow bandwidth of less than 0.1 nm using a volume Bragg grating or external cavity design; making it suitable for Raman spectroscopy and holography.
