Water Contact Indicator Tape | Datasheet Preview
3M’s Water Contact Indicator Tape is a tape that changes color from white to red upon contact with water. In electronic products ranging from mobile phones, 2-way radios, video cameras, laptops, and batteries/chargers to electrical box enclosures, users will have clear evidence of water contact without false identification from high humidity. This tape is designed to withstand heat and humidity aging without giving water indications. The highly absorbent paper backing transports water to show indication of water ingress. A film top layer is printable by thermal transfer, flexographic, and screen printing methods and offers improved ink receptivity. The acrylic adhesive allows for a very high bond strength to most surfaces including low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and powder coatings. With a number of thicknesses available, the total construction is rotary die cuttable and UL-969 compliant.
