In today's buildings, installers are required to install a wide range of devices. These installers may not have had previous experience with integrating all the products they are asked to connect. Simple understanding of how to terminate a wire, clear termination mechanism, or where to terminate a wire, color-coding, must be intuitive.

The number of connection points has risen as we try to integrate all building functions into one massive network. When connecting all of these functions into one massive network, time becomes a critical value to save on cost during the installation. Quicker setup means less cost. Connections with spring, insulation displacement, or insulation piercing can lead up to 60 percent time savings per termination.

Devices are getting smaller and smaller but the quantities of wires are increasing. Connection density and overall connector size come to the forefront as primary requirements of building automation devices. Shrinking the height of a block or utilizing vertical space with double-level connections can help satisfy this trend.

Introducing a new line of spring push-button connectors rated up to 10 A and 300 V

The PTS fixed PCB terminal blocks contain the popular Push-in Technology wire termination system. The advantage is direct push-in of solid or ferruled wires without the use of tools. This reduces assembly time and labor costs. Terminating stranded wires is as simple as pushing the release button with a finger or screwdriver and then inserting the wire.

The new PTS-style blocks will be available in both 5.0 mm and 7.5 mm pin spacing, but with more compact dimensions on this spacing than competitive products. The PCB terminal block comes supplied with an integrated test point for quick identification of proper connections. The PTS is assembled as individual slices, making it easy to customize the pole count or color coding.

PT 1.5 & PT Clip Series

Phoenix Contact PT 1.5 & PT Clip Series

PT 1.5 and PT CLIP pin-strip plugs feature a screw termination with a rising-cage contact design. Both have a molded mono-block design with compact outer dimensions. The PT CLIP includes rugged locking fingers that snap into the surrounding enclosure, and the PT products provide sturdy connections on a cost-effective pin strip. These plugs are ideal for many semi-industrial applications.

PTPM and PTSM Series Terminal Block Connectors

Phoenix Contact PTPM and PTSM Series

Thanks to their small design, the PTSM and PTPM are ideal for use on flat modules and boards. The base housings require minimal PCB space and are shipped in tape feeder packs. The connectors were designed with LED connections in mind, but will work in any application with limited space, such as ballasts, small fans, and compact power supplies.
