Infineon products for highest efficiency and better reliability

Infineon’s latest generation of reverse conducting IGBTs is optimized for the demanding requirements of induction cooking applications. Designers can choose between the new 650 V devices with increased blocking voltage, or also 1200 V, 1350 V and the unique-in-the-market 1600 V devices.

  • The 1200 V and 1350 V devices are the evolution of the successful RC-H products, focused on single-switch induction cooking appliances. They offer the benefit of a well-balanced cost/performance trade-off, which results in an overall system cost optimization from savings in the passive components. Both these voltage classes are available in 20 A, 30 A and 40 A.
  • A 1600 V device is available in 30 A to address those application where the largest margin for the breakdown voltage is demanded
  • 650 V devices are available in 20 A, 30 A, 40 A and 50 A. The 650 V class is built on the industry-leading technology of the TRENCHSTOP™ 5 and the RC-H3, specifically targeted for half-bridge topologies in induction cooking and inverterized microwave ovens. They have been optimized for the lowest VCE(sat), as well as lower Eoff for the improved performance in designs with higher switching frequencies.
  • All devices offer up to 30% lower losses, compared to the previous technology generation, for the best efficiency, thermal performance, and opportunities for system cost reduction, even at higher switching frequencies.

IPD Protect

The Integrated Power Device Protect (IPD Protect) combines a 1350 V, 20 A IGBT in RC-H5 technology with a unique protecting gate driver IC together in a TO-247 6-pin package for induction cooking applications.

Infineon RC-E family is based on the RC-H technology and offers Infineon’s proven quality in RC IGBTs and meets all the needs of soft switching applications, including attractive pricing compared to other general purpose IGBTs. This familiy is available in 1200 V voltage class, and in 15 A and 25 A current class.
